ABOUT THE ROSE-TINTED REBEL

Why, hello there! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Erika, the real-life person behind this blog and this is a little about the The Rose-Tinted Globe.

Okay, but what exactly does that name mean?

Have you heard the saying, “take off your rose-tinted glasses”? If you’re shaking your head, it’s an idiom, or a common phrase with a figurative meaning.  It basically means that people should stop being naive, stop sugarcoating things, and be a little more realistic. To that I say, NOPE.

I’m of the mindset that we should all keep our rose-tinted glasses on. Seeing the world in shades of glorious light pink, embracing the positive in each day, choosing happiness in times when happiness is hard to find…what could be better than that?

I seek to maintain that headspace that we inhabit when we seek only the beauty this world has to offer. Ignore the snafus, the misunderstandings, the forgotten non-essentials, and focus on the brilliance, the peace, and the daily stories to be shared.

Want to know a little bit more about me? about the The Rose-Tinted Rebel

–>I’m a would-be-traveler-writer-reader-lover-of-life-and-spreader-of-beauty, and more than anything I want to live a life of positivity, service to others, and love for all things beautiful and different.

–>Well, I guess if I’m being totally truthful, first I actually just want to hang out with my dog all day. He’s a 10 (ish) year-old Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix rescue dog and he is 100% my soulmate. My husband is a very close second, but it’s okay, he understands. #dogmomaf

–>I’m an aspiring minimalist and plastic-free warrior and I have a dream to one day live in a tiny house, van, or refurbished bus. I prefer outdoor landscapes and time in the woods to shopping malls. I’m trying to live more simply, decrease my environmental impact, and just generally be a bit more crunchy.

–>I might be the world’s worst runner, but I keep signing up for races anyway. Hubs and I have a plan to race every state, i.e. run a half-marathon in each of the 48 contiguous states, hopefully within the next 10 or so years.

–>I LOVE lists. In the past I’ve dedicated myself to both a 20 in 2020 list, and in May of 2019, I finished my 30 before 30 list. I just can’t stop the list-checking off!
