What’s on my 20 in 2020 List:
If you’ve been around the blog for a bit, then you’ve probably realized that I love lists. I spent most of last year ticking off items on my 30 before 30 list, and I recently finished a post series on…
How to describe a personal blog? Basically this category serves as a catch-all for anything uncategorized. As much as I’d love to focus my writing and my life on just a few clear things (running, reading, travel, and being as minimalist/waste-free as possible), it’s difficult to avoid simply writing at times.
Especially before I decided to narrow the focuses of this blog, I wrote whatever came into my mind or heart. I’ve long thought that writing was the best form of catharsis (I even wrote an entire blog post on this idea HERE: Writing for Catharsis: Why Perfectionism is a Bitch), so I simply let the writing take me where it would.
Those posts now make up the brunt of this miscellaneous/random musings and personal reflection section of this blog. Enjoy!

It happens every few months: I’m in the backseat of a car that I’ve never seen before. I can barely see out the windshield, and I have no idea how I’m reaching the pedals, but I’m somehow driving. I’m aware…
My mornings are works-in-progress, there is no denying it. For years I’ve tried to get around the fact that the way you start your morning has a major effect on the rest of your day. I’ve read book after book…
I don’t profess to be a morning person. In fact, I’m not really much of a night person either, but hey I do my best. For years I’ve struggled with a morning routine, spending countless hours pushing snooze, only to…
In an effort to spread beauty, positivity, and joy, I’ve started highlighting some of the beautiful books I read, or what I like to call “Rose-Tinted Reads”. These might be books that tell beautiful stories, share diverse perspectives, are funny…
Having stalked photos of beautiful bullet journals on Instagram and Pinterest for quite some time, I have now finally gotten around to starting my own. Being filled with equal parts joy and nerves, I posted how excited I was to…
If you don’t look below the surface, post-holiday-season-winter seems like the all-time worst season. It’s freezing (especially here in Wisconsin), it’s dark out like 70% of the time, and there aren’t any really exciting things happening until spring break finally…
I had an epiphany the other day while I was mopping the floors. If you are at all like me, you probably don’t mop as often as you should. Or as often as anyone should whose house has not been…
